Happy Independence Day America!
I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday. We’ll be spending the evening with our church family eating brisket, making jokes about how much better the good ol’ USA is, and how much better Texas is than that, blowing things up, fellowshipping, and probably staying up too late. Holidays are a blessing from the Lord, a time to get out of the normal schedule and celebrate the temporary things of this life. Enjoy yours!
Happy 4th of July!
Now…lets go blow stuff up!
(Some people say that as an insult to Americans, but it just sounds like fun to me! Maybe my inner redneck is showing?)
“Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?”
-The Star-Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key
