Thanksgiving 15, 16, 17, 18, 19

20181031_160648-01.jpegWhen I look back on this November, I’ll see that I was thankful more by the week, than by the day. 🙂

Day 15

One of the reasons my thanksgivings are spread out over weeks is because I’m not writing every day right now. My home is my main focus, so I’m mostly writing on Mondays. So, today I’m thankful for my home. I’m thankful for the brick and mortar structure that keeps us warm, dry, and comfy. But more than that, I’m thankful for the opportunity to create a home in this building. I’m thankful I get to work on making it warm, comfy, safe, beautiful and welcoming. I’m thankful to be a homemaker.

Day 16

I’m thankful for the creation God filled this world with. I’m thankful for Horses, Owls, Crows, Foxes, Hedgehogs, Deer and all the other wonderful creatures in this world. I’m thankful for trees. I love big trees and little trees, mighty oaks and smaller cedars. I’m thankful for rain, fog, and sunshine. I’m thankful for a world with beaches and water. Good has given us a beautiful post-apocalypse world. I’m thankful for it.

Day 17

I’m thankful for Stories. I’m thankful for cheesy stories, deep stories, sad stories, hard stories. I’m thankful for the stories God has given me to write, edit, and grow. I’m thankful for the stories He’s given others. I’m thankful for movies, tv shows, songs, and books. I am a lover of stories and I’m thankful for them. As someone who struggles with their health, stories let me escape and go on adventures I’m unable to experience within my own limitations.

Day 18

I’m thankful for my church. Oh Heritage, I could never say enough how thankful I am for you. I love you so much. Each week, I come to be refreshed and to stand with my fellow sibling-saints. I’m thankful for a church that longs to be fed with the rich food of the word, that stands for truth even when it hurts, that loves each other. I’m thankful that even on days I don’t feel good, people stop to talk to me. I’m thankful for days together, prayer together, fellowship, laughter, tears, and years and years of laboring together. I’m thankful for members I’ve known since I was a teen, and new members who I’m just starting to get to know. I’m thankful for Heritage Baptist Church.

Day 19

I’m thankful for Emily and Sarah and our across state lines watching of Band of Brothers. It’s been so much fun to do this with you and I’m thankful for you both.

Thanksgiving (Day 23)

Typically, when I do my month long thanksgiving I mention lots of people by name who I love. I didn’t do that this year because November turned into a crazy busy month and I just couldn’t do any long posts. I was afraid I’d miss someone if I tried to do short posts. So, to my husband, my church, my family, my friends, my fans, my fellow writers, my faithful readers, my crew, I love you all so much!

And an extra special thankfulness for Liz Groves, Emily Day, my Mom, Wanda Jones, Deanna Brown, Rachel Cole, Elayne Garrick, Denise Wilkinson, Emily Shiflet, Michelle Smith, Deanell Smith, Stephanie Florentino, Ruth Vincent, Joy Vincent, Anita Guffey, the Atterholts girls, and Heather FitzGerald. I love you ladies so much and can’t imagine life without you. You make life brighter and more wonderful.  (And now I’m terrified I’ve left someone important to me out. 😂)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

May your tables be covered with wonderful foods, surrounded by friends and family raising glasses, and filled with delight in the Lord!

I love Thanksgiving! I love the spirit of this holiday!

We have much to give thanks for. We have been richly blessed by the Lord.

What are you most thankful for this day?

Thanksgiving 2

I’m thankful for all the way God faithfully provides for me and other saints. I have a roof over my head, my husband has a job, we have food on the table, and are surrounded by people we love and who love us. God is good. And God goes above and beyond just my needs. He has provided us a home with so many trees and room for more, both people and trees. He has covered our needs and given us more so we can help others. He has not just given us food, but so many foods: cheese, meat, bread, sweets, fruits, vegetables and more. He has given us each other, and he has given us a family that loves us, little nieces and nephews and some not so little ones, parents and grandparents. What a blessing! He’s given us so many friends, wise and good friends who share that wisdom with us. God is good and I am thankful for his bountiful blessings.

Thanksgiving 18

I’m thankful for my writing group and my writing class.  I’m thankful for the women who gather in my home to talk about their stories, and humbled they want to do it with me.  In fact, I’m thankful for all the things which go along with being a writer.  I’m thankful for pens, paper, journals, post-it notes, computers and printers, late night ideas, early morning writing time, crazy characters who live in your head.  I’m thankful for times with other writers where you giggle about about the whole other world in your mind, and you sigh about the whole other world in your mind, and you listen for any kernel that might help you.  I’m thankful for all the writers who are people watchers, who watch this strange beast called man and then seek to lay out their stories.

I’m thankful for writing and the friends it has brought me over the years, especially amongst my church family!
